Au-delà du corps, il y a aussi, dans cette quête, un romantisme trompe-l'oeil, une concession ironique à notre imagerie médiatisée et qui nous trouble face à la terreur des grands désordres historiques d'un récent passé et de notre crise contemporaine, d'une certaine imagerie récupérée du national-socialisme de l'esthétique communiste, d'une omniprésence patriarcale où la femme ne devient qu'un objet érotique et complice, un moyen de produire l'enfant sacrifié au-nom de la race idéale, éduqué au service des régimes et des politiques présentes. Aussi, sous cette peau de l'imagerie de G.Helnwein, ce sont aussi nos vécus d'enfants brutalisés et violentés qui nous éclatent au visage et nous renvoient à notre état d'adulte vulnérable, voir impuissant.
Mais de-même, l'impression esthétique de ces oeuvres d'art muet, nous amène à nous poser la question quant à notre séduction vis à vis d'une imagerie romantique, écho d'une attitude fasciste intériorisée et qui se reflète dans notre quotidien de chaque jour, ici et là, à-travers l'imagerie médiatisée et attractive, voir à la mode, où la résistance de l'individu perd espoir.

La domination et la servitude reviennent comme des thèmes tourmentés et esthétisants chez G.Helnwein. La réalité sociale s'avère dés lors monstrueuse et complexe. Le "kitsch" prend une allure désespérante et devient objecteur de conscience sans nous donner la résistance contre les drames historiques, politiques et sociaux que nous subissons et refoulons. Toute cette "imagerie" révéle et dénonce notre statut d'individus martyrs et confrontés aux antagonismes de notre monde moderne. ...
