you'll never read this of course, but I'd like to think you're actually reading your guestbook when you're not working or travelling. So I just wanted you to know that I really adore your way of art and life, you actually create, and move people (through horror and beauty). your art intrigues me like no other artist I've ever known. "keep up the good work" sounds really lame, but the sentiment is similar to what I wanted to say, and I really think that you surpassed that dimension of communication: writing/ talking. so, thank you Gottfried Helnwein, for making my vision a bit more broad. thanks. I am very impressed with your line of artwork. From the time era that they were made, comes across as something you wouldn't find everyday here, and thats what I love about it. You are one of my favorite artists, and have made a huge impression on my self expression through MY art as well. Thank you for the inspiration. I would love to see some future work.

The art work is the most beautiful art I have every seen. I just keep coming back and looking at every single art work. I can not keep my eyes off of it. I too am in art but I hope someday I will be as good as an artist as you. Thank you for showing me great art work on this web site.

Artwork is, primarily, entertainment. Yet very occasionally, out of the shadows of their own anguish and experience walks a master.
It has struck me that each of these masters use twisted imagery as their medium. Picasso, Marilyn Manson and Gottfreid Helnwein. The artistic word is such that a moment, caught perfectly in the mind and then applied to paper can plant any emotion in any person.
Thankyou for all you have done.

Your work is invaluable to a generation of artists seduced by a precedent that anything realistic is stale and overdone. Just as painting photographically was once an imposed ideal that hampered expression, I feel that abstraction is now the orthodox that needs to be challenged. Nothing speaks more directly to the human soul than depictions of humans themselves in the painterly form that mimicks our everyday visual experience. We take our everyday visual experience for granted; when Hellwein shows us reality on canvas we are forced to see the images for all the meaning they embody. Thank you Gottfried!

i am an artist and art student called adiba.
i was given a helnwein print after i found my friend dead,from alcholism,the print was his.the picture captured me and is hung in my living room.the print is brilliant and i love it,the piece iz pure art and reminds me of my friend-MARTIN r.i.p.i stumbeled upon this site and now i find it hard to stop visiting it,im captured.after simply browsing through this site ive come to the conclusion that Helnwein is one of the best multi talented artists of our time.he is giving contempory art realistic yet distorted art-if u no wat i mean!so brilliant,the site is a credit to the creaters and everyone involved in it.
